Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the CodeGate website and tool. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use page.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. Description of the Service

CodeGate is a web-based utility that shows a current TOTP (time-based one-time password) authentication code. You can paste your own TOTP secret key or otpauth link, in which case the code is calculated in your browser, or enter the email address of an account that the site operator has set up for you. The website also contains labelled advertising and a self-service page for buying advertising.

3. Authorized Use

You may use the service only with accounts, credentials and authentication information that you own or are explicitly authorized to use.

4. Prohibited Use

You must not use the service for unauthorized account access, credential theft, account takeover, bypassing authentication, fraud, impersonation, or accessing another person's credentials without permission. You must not send automated or excessive requests, try to find accounts by guessing email addresses, interfere with the security or operation of the service, or attempt to reach parts of it that are not meant for you. 5. User Responsibility

You are responsible for making sure that you are authorized to use any account and authentication information you enter, for how you use the codes shown to you, and for following the terms of the third-party services you sign in to. You are responsible for keeping your own secret keys, passwords and advertiser account details private.

6. Authentication Information

TOTP secrets and codes are sensitive. Do not share them, and do not send them to us in messages. We do not ask for your passwords. How information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

The service works with codes that are used on third-party services, and some features rely on third-party providers (for example payment, email and hosting providers). We do not control those services and are not responsible for them. CodeGate is an independent service. Product names, trademarks, and company names mentioned on this website belong to their respective owners. No affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement is implied unless explicitly stated. Compatibility with any particular service is not guaranteed.

8. Advertising

Advertisements are supplied by advertisers, are labelled "Advertisement", and are not endorsed by CodeGate. When you order advertising, the package, price, duration and review process shown when you order apply. Advertisements are reviewed before they are shown, and we may reject or remove an advertisement that is misleading, unlawful or against these terms. Each advertisement runs for the period of the package that was bought.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep the service available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, technical problems or reasons outside our control. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, and codes depend on correct information and on the clocks and settings of the services they are used with.

10. Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about fitness for a particular purpose or compatibility with any third-party service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, CodeGate and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of access to any account, or for loss that results from unauthorized or improper use of the service, from information you chose to enter, or from the actions of third parties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to the Service

We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service at any time, including features, supported input types and advertising packages.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Using the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
